Kim Lawton is an award-winning reporter, producer, writer and speaker who has worked in broadcast, print and online media covering religion, ethics and culture.
For the last 20 years, Lawton was Managing Editor and Correspondent for the highly-acclaimed national public television program “Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly,” where she oversaw news coverage and appeared as a regular on-air correspondent. She also provided exclusive content for program’s award-winning website. "Religion & Ethics Newsweekly" ended in March 2017, but its website is still accessible at: www.pbs.org/religion.

Lawton is a frequent commentator on issues of faith, culture and spirituality. She has appeared on outlets including PBS, MSNBC, CNN and the BBC. Her articles have appeared in numerous publications and websites including THE LOS ANGELES TIMES, THE WASHINGTON POST, THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS, THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER, RELIGION NEWS SERVICE and HUFFINGTON POST.

In 2015, she was selected to be a fellow with the East-West Center’s Senior Journalist Seminar, during which she spent three weeks traveling around the globe studying US relations with the Muslim world. Over the course of her career, she has worked on assignment in nearly 30 countries.
